Cuba Libre!

Cubans are now allowed to use cell phones!!!
Presidente Bush announced that Cuban Americans (most of Miami [not me]) are now able to send their family members cell phones in Cuba.
Residents of Cuba make an average of $15 a month... That's not even the price of a t shirt or maybe a key chain at kidrobot... let alone a cell phone

But I'm thinking liberty and democracy is much more important than a cell phone... People are just so materialistic next thing you know Cuba is going to be allowing video games and iPods but no equal opportunities or voting rights... Oh but what do I know?!

Neon Bible

It's been all over the runways and has already hit the streets I'm loving the vibrant neon colors. Here are some looks from Chloe, Giambattista Valli, Etro & more.

Haut or not? Costume Institute Annual Gala

Hands down Anna Wintour was my favorite! She really went all out as storm for the superheroes meets fashion fantasy event at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art. Everyone seemed to love Christina Ricci's look but I think she could've looked better. And as for Misha Barton- wtf was she even doing there? and her dress was not cute in the least. I was also disappointed with Victoria; the dress didn't really flatter her but at least David was perfect arm candy. Karl looks fierce, of course, and I adored Kate Bosworths' green shadow.
Who was your favorite and least?

myspace your space I need my space

With the phenomenon that is the internet I'm surprised no one came up with this sooner!
Maybe e-bay is similar but mediocre in comparison...

Fashion Space is an online social, business, news and fashion based web site that includes all of the above.

You can buy, sell, talk about clothes and accessories. Exchange fashion tips and discuss the latest Lagerfeld news. Form groups to promote your up and coming fashion line and create events all while networking. It's fantastic; I'm a member, clearly.

Join at www.fashionspace.com

You'll thank me when you sell that dress from last season you'll never wear again to some girl in Switzerland.

Freshhh

My love for music is undeniable and I was beyond excited when I recently discovered Scratch Academy.

Scratch Academy is a Dj school founded by the late Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. It constructively disseminates the art of the disk jockey to the public.

After just one class I already know the basics! It is set up just like a real school with curriculum and scheduled semesters. There are professional DJ's always on hand as tutors and advocates.

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous" - Coco Chanel

"
So, someone (who will remain anonymous) asked me a couple assumedly simple questions recently and I found myself completely tongue- tied!

The questions were:

What's your favorite trend this season?

Who's your favorite style icon?

What celebrity's fashion sense do you admire the most?

What brand can you not live without?

ahhh! I was under pressure! I couldn't seem to answer the questions and when I finally blurted out whatever came to mind I was embarrassed with the outcome. How could I not have these answers at the back of my head?!

They seem so simple and obvious now.

The problem was that I clearly can't make simple decisions... Or complex one's for that matter and it takes me at least an hour (or two) to get ready each morning and that's not even including my minimal of three outfit changes a day! Oh how hard it is to be me with a full closet! Too many choices!

So here are my answers:

Favorite trend: high waisted pants and gladiator heels ( I can't just pick one! bear with me)

Favorite style icon: Coco Chanel is simply fabulous

Celebrities: The Olsen twins

And for the most difficult part

What brand I can't live without: Minx - I LOVE the soft sweaters!

Will you be ready the next time someone bombards you with these super essential to everyday life questions? I hope so!

I absolutely adore the boys from Chromeo!

check their new music out on their myspace! www.myspace.com/chromeo

And the talent doesn't stop there! It runs in the family with A Trak; the talented little brother of the French professor looking dude, David Macklovitch, on the left. He's the official DJ of Kanye West

check out A Trak's skills at www.myspace.com/djatrak

Enjoy!

Your body a canvas of expression?

I'm all for the option of tattoos on one's body but when does it get tacky? With little originality these days it's absolutely grotesque when I see someone walking down the street with a generic butterfly or a Nicole Richie inspired rosary on their foot or angel wings on their back.

I finally decided on a tattoo for myself and shared the idea with some friends... Within several weeks my friend calls me to share the great news! Her new tattoo... To my surprise, it was none other than the tattoo I told her I wanted just a couple weeks earlier! What a shock. I didn't know whether to feel complimented or angry... Especially angry cause there is no way I'm going to get the tattoo now since she got it first! Ugh.

How do you feel about authenticity? Would you feel comfortable walking around with an extremely fake Birkin bag in the middle of the Champs Elysees? I think not. Give your new wife your ex fiancee's ring? (yes I'm calling you out Nick Cannon) Hells no.

So why would you put someone else's design on your body?

All lacquered up

My dislike for Rihanna is no secret; i'd rather listed to my dads old Serbian music collection than her super annoying voice. Yeah, she's cute and everyone seems to love her but I am pretty stubborn and it doesn't look like I'm changing my mind any time soon... Anyway, she seems to be trying to be trendy lately and I'm not sure about her whole I'm-from-an-exotic-small-island-but-I'm-trying-to-look-like-a-boy-punk-rocker ploy.
To get to the point: She has been rocking some pretty intense nails lately and I'm trying to make up my mind if I want to have them or if I want to hate them

And while we're on the nail issue, I ran into a woman who lives in my building on the elevator this morning and while she went to press her floor... (GASP) I couldn't help but notice she was sporting some air brushed nails! Do people really think that's cool now?

What's your opinion... feel free to share

who knows.. maybe I'll be rocking the I'm-from-the-suburbs-but-I'm-trying-to-look-like-a-chonga-with- my-airbrushed-nails look this fall
